WHAT IS A CAR T CELL?

CAR T cells are T cells that have been re-engineered to take advantage of their own natural killing mechanism to destroy disease-causing cells.  CAR T Cell therapies have been used successfully to treat B cell cancers, and more recently, B cell-mediated autoimmune disorders.

HOW OUR THERAPY DIFFERS

Our unique approach combining CAR T cells with unique antigens to create CAL/CAR T cell therapies provides for the specific killing of disease-causing autoreactive T cells without destroying healthy cells nearby.  Instead of targeting cancer cells, CAL/CAR T Cell Therapy targets the autoreactive T cells responsible for autoimmune diseases.
